Don’t be fooled by appearance!
Don’t judge the book by its cover only.
What does the Holy Bible say?
We should not judge by appearance.
The Bible says that we should not judge by appearance because appearances are deceiving. The exterior appearance does not always reflect the interior. God cares more about the heart.
Each person is much more than what they wear, eat or say. Physical beauty is not always proportional to sympathy, nor is intelligence or education equal to wisdom. To really get to know a person, we need to go deeper.
Men judge by appearance, but God sees the heart (1 Samuel 16: 7). The heart is our desires, feelings, thoughts, plans, doubts … God sees who we really are.
Appearances can lead to unfair judgments (John 7:24). Jesus did not look impressive or handsome. Even though the Savior was promised, he was rejected by many people because of appearances (Isaiah 53: 2-3).
But it is not just physical appearance that deceives. There are people who seem wise and righteous but who do not actually serve God (2 Corinthians 11: 14-15).
The devil pretends to be a lot of good to deceive people. There are also religious teachings that look good but are not (Colossians 2:23). Therefore, we need to be careful and make fair judgments, always depending on the spiritual discernment that is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that He gives to his close ones.
